| In today’s competitive business environment an executive coach isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity. In a radically changing world new work habits are required. Even if you have a good reputation today, that does not guarantee continued success tomorrow. You need to constantly refresh your work style and behavior.
More information has been delivered in the last 30 years than the previous 500. A single weekday copy of the New York Times today dispenses more information than the average person had access to in a lifetime a hundred years ago. You’re swamped keeping up with the demands of your job. Your formal schooling is long since completed. You don’t have time to attend a workshop or seminar every week. So how do you learn the necessary new things? From a personal coach. Debra Benton’s six and twelve-month programs provides objective, professional direction enhancing what you have and acquiring what you need. If you’ve just received a new promotion, passed over for a promotion, moved into a new job or new industry, have a new boss, turned thirty, turned forty, turned fifty, got divorced, had a death in the family, or had some other eye-opening event that caused you to reevaluate, reflect, decide to recharge your career – it’s a good turning point for coaching. Instead of a face-lift chose a career-lift. It’s never too late. |

Here is a sample list of reasons some of Debra’s current clients give for getting coaching:
Why is Debra Benton described as one of the top five coaches to be on speed dial? In addition to her top-selling book Secrets of a CEO Coach and CEO Material (McGraw-Hill) Debra is skilled at behavioral change. She can quickly develop rapport with a wide range of people, ask the right questions, assess problem areas, and keep track of effective and not-so-effective behaviors. She is skilled at how to critique constructively, sensitive when pointing out problems, and will provide positive encouragement – caring for the self-esteem of the coachee. |

| What happens in her coaching program?
You start by reviewing your personal and professional background, how you got to where you are, where you are in your career, why you want coaching, what you hope to gain from the session, and where you want to go in your life – personally and professionaly. Several hours of discussion gives a professional assessment by Debra. Specific feedback is provided to meet the targets agreed upon. A day-long session wraps up with a “trigger list” of actions and activities to implement the next day, week, and month(s) . You walk away with: • tools to fit the job at hand • a variety of targets and goals to aim for • a strategy to go forward • fall-back plans That session is followed-up with a debriefing for the individual client’s manager along with a written action plan from the individual. That plan makes sure the coach and the person being coached are always speaking the same language. Over the next six (or twelve) months the client has unlimited access to Debra for ongoing follow-up advice and direction. |

| How does the company benefit from hiring a coach for their executives? • They save a valuable resource because employees don’t quit from lack of support and move to another company that cares about them. • They save money because they don’t have to pay to recruit a replacement for someone who quit, or replace a person they had to fire because she or he lacked the necessary “soft” side of business management and leadership. • They improve morale because good people feel valued when the company invests in them. • They become more competitive and unique because they have a motivated, happy, skilled team who can handle most any situation they are faced with in an effective manner both in substance and style. Does your executive coach have to live in your city? It makes no difference where the coach or client lives. What is important is having a qualified and experienced coach. After the first meeting the bulk of the contact is over the telephone, email, or teleconferencing – geography doesn’t matter. A good coach is available when needed. For example, when you’re at the airport headed home from a job interview or at a restaurant just before you have dinner with your boss and his or her spouse, or when you are sitting in your office after hearing the advance news on your performance appraisal. You need to talk at 9:00 am before popping into a meeting, or at 2:00 pm waiting for a plane at the airport. In other words, your coach needs to be accessible when you are on the firing line. You need it when you’re up at 3:00am and want to send an email. You don’t have the time or opportunity to drive to your coach’s office, you need to be able to pick up your phone and get the answers and opinions you seek right now! Contact Mary Reed to schedule time to talk with Debra (whom client’s call “the coaches coach”) personally about your own coaching program. |
